Trump only began disparaging the need and benefit of widespread testing when the virus became a serious problem is RED states. Go back to the late March press conferences and rediscover the Donald that promised more testing.
Hatred is cool. Lying is in. Bigotry is patriotic. Bitterness and resentment are growing like weeds. Love, compassion, decency are shunned as weakness. Woodword makes a great point that I was also thinking about last week. All Trump had to do was lead effectively and honestly with Covid and Americans all across the political spectrum would have rallied around him and he would have easily sailed to re-election. His leadership has been so incompetent which is why people trust Joe Biden by 20% on the Corona Virus.

A lot of attention has been given to Trump’s interviews with Woodward. NO attention has been given to the fact that when Trump was giving these interviews, most of the virus cases were in blue states. I think the not-wanting-people-to-panic explanation is a lie.
Considering the grim milestone America’s fast approaching, I’d say Trump having failed is a gigantic understatement.

He played down the virus because his measure of success was the Stock Market, not people’s lives!
