It is greed for power and wealth. It is been happening here in the USA. I would go to war over the US Oligarchs and all their ignorant supporters, because, I know the facts: Republicans are the enemy of democracy.

Oh wow, they are STILL using the old “captured Enemy soldier Propaganda.” Some things never change. This is an old psychological war tactic that was done in the 1950’s & 60’s.
just imagine when his soldiers returned home to Russia and have no pay. the poor McDonald’ workers who lost their jobs and all the other stores and companies that closed their doors. that’s a massive exodus from employment to poverty. that is one wall I wouldn’t want to be a fly on .
PUTIN does NOT want Ukraine. He would rather just annex the Eastern parts he mentioned and wants to make a DEAL that guarantees 2 main things: 1) The Nordstrom Pipeline AND 2) NATO does NOT expand into Ukraine and point nuclear weapons at Russia.

In Putins mind he is winning. He doesn’t care about his Russian soldiers. He will just replace the dead ones with 17 yr old kids
This fear of “provoking Russia” is absurd. We have done nothing to provoke, and look at what they have already done (and have threatened to do). There’s no moral compass holding Putin back; he will use tactical nukes if he thinks it will gain him something. Or he might just because he is losing.
We cannot stop that by hand-wringing and doing nothing. We *can* make it much less likely by helping Ukraine’s air defense.
Yes, and at least some of Russia’s 6,000 nuclear warheads would probably still function.
We all know he’s just crazy enough to throw some at a major capital.
These weapons must be destroyed and outlawed in the near future.

I wish the idea that tourism, rather than greed and power, would occur to despots and terrorists. It would bring in loads of money for countries with so much beauty and historical sites to see. That would help with the greed factor. Too bad tourism wouldn’t do much for the ego needing power thing.
