It is such a shame that we all can see what happened and all can be published, but it won’t change a thing. The GOP will win the mid terms…..god knows what will happen after that, but it will have very little to do with “democracy”. Very, very, scary.
One person having control of Twitter, especially with it being one person who’s sympathetic to the current dangerous sickness of fascism and authoritarianism, is unacceptable and is an extremely concerning further exacerbating danger.
When America was being formed and the Founders drafted its Constitution, their ideas, morals, and ethics were fundamentally different than they are today. They understood the intention behind every original Amendment, according to the way the social structure was seen during the mid-1770s. Even the language that was used, albeit English, is significantly different in its intention than today’s English.
Today, the Right-Wing is doing what conservative control-freaks have done for two thousand years, and this is to twist and turn what is written to excuse their behavior citing that their “holy” or “legal” texts say what they claim. These people don’t care about any original intent that they claim is the foundation of their religious and political beliefs. They lie. They covet. They do all that is evil for the explicit reason of grabbing and keeping power, and the people, and the whole world, be damned.
The attacks of voting rights, qualifications, and ease and availability of voting across the country and the Republicans attempts to install at different levels of government officials who will support the next attempted coup d’etat are so extraordinarily dangerous and must be defended and defeated or we will lose this secular democratic republic. Every new revelation couples with every piece of news about not being able to depose the complicit Republican elected representatives make it more and more plain how extraordinarily immediate these concerns are to the defense of democracy.
Republicans insist that intelligence and education don’t matter, and get upset when they are made fun of for being ignorant, but it matters! Just because it hurts your feelings, we all shouldn’t accept stupidity and laziness.
