Will Smith’s son Jaden apparently thought this was typical behavior from his dad. What else could his tweet mean: “And That’s How We Do It”.

Woah. Will Smith may be suspended from Oscar voting for up to 2 years? I’m sure he’ll need his soap-on-a-rope for that in some weird way but can they do anything meaningful? Pretentious snobs…

I was also shocked that he got to sit there and enjoy the show after he smacked Chris Rock. Where they do that at? I’ve been at bars where a dude punches someone, and 2 big security guys come over and throw him out the back door. The academy mishandled this situation. They need to come up with some real consequences for Will Smith. He needs to know this is not acceptable.
Seriously, Chris Rock should sue Will Smith, not for him but for all comedians around the world
For 2 years we’ve had some respite from Hollywood egos….I see there’s no change there. Anyone else would have been removed, arrested & charged…why is Will Smith any different…because He’s a celeb?

Wow! I got new found respect for Jim Carrey. Will Smith is first laughing, then smacking Chris in the face, then smiling, then screaming like a psycho and finally weeping. Might be time to get some therapy!
A good perspective to help clarify an unfortunate situation. During the telling of the joke I watched Will’s face and demeanor which seemed apropos to the event. Then Jada’s reaction with her rolling eyes and slight scowl set Will off. One second laughing, then the next slapping, and then on to profanity laced yelling. What a night for sure.
Chris’ comments were disrespectful. Years ago stars were “roasted” but those were individual programs. Now all award programs have become roasts”. I think these comments are now going too far. Each person trying to out do the last person’s bit.
Will’s actions were also inappropriate. I can understand his feelings about his wife being the butt of a joke. But as a grown man, he know better than to display his anger physically. A person with less money and stardom would have been escorted out right away. Banned, and probably arrested.
Shame on Chris, Will and the awards program. You all acted badly.

The fact that no one stepped up on stage to give Chris some moral support is disgusting, T fact that this violent thug got a standing ovation by the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch is vile.
Here’s what should happen. The producer and director of the show’s contracts should be terminated immediately. Will Smith’s membership should be suspended for 5 years. Will Smith be barred from any official AMPAS events or property until the suspension has expired. No one can bring Will Smith to the Oscars as a guest or escort until the suspension has expired. Anyone who tries to sneak in Will Smith to the Oscars shall also be removed from the premises as well and be subject to further penalties. Any further violations by Will Smith, AMPAS will tack on a year to the suspension.
