Some Texas Electricity Bills Skyrocket After Winter Storm | Morning Joe | MSNBC
The grid failure is by design. They are not connected to other states so that they can ignore Federal regulations and they have done nothing to fix the same issues that were highlighted by 3 previous cold snaps.
Apparently the Republicans are too incompetent to manage anything important.
In 1989, in 2003, and in 2011, the state experienced, to varying degrees, simultaneous shutdowns of power plants and parts of its natural gas–producing infrastructure, as significant swaths of both of those critical systems were incapacitated by arctic temperatures, triggering blackouts.

It’s almost like regulation traditionally helps the consumer. No wonder the Republicans hate it.
Texas thinks it is independent! Haha, they needed Federal support since the 1800s.
Sound’s like the health system.
Come on Texas,… you,… are,… not,… conservative enough. Go,… hard,… right! Go maximum impossible psycho conservative mode!
Do it!
Bet Abbott, personally,is making a lot of $$ off this Enron type set up.
We live in a capitalistic shithole.
Why are people dumb? You can buy a 10kW generator on Amazon (they’re still in stock) for less than $1000. Why is no one doing that? Its way, way, WAY, WAY cheaper. FFS.
It’s ok, they 1% owners will take their homes!
Then rent it back to them, at a fair rate.
Now they learned how oil prices work too
What! That state who created it was should pay.are you serious
I like her, however this mornng Stephanie looks too cheerful for what she is reporting. She should have come on with a serious face as this is not a happy situation.
Ahh capitalism
One thing we know for 100% absolute is that what ever the Texas Republican do to correct moving forward….NUMBER ONE PRIORITY on legislation will be a new law, you can not sue the power companies. WAIT FOR IT. Republicans=Corporate Fascism.
Hence Sen Klobuchar’s question about anti-trust at AG Garland’s confirmation hearing today.
Everything is bigger in Texas including bills
Regulations stop the system from crashing in the first place, AND they protect you from being gouged
If you know anything about the weather-derivatives market you would know that this entire catastrophe was planned in advance, even down to the “deregulated” electricity bills being jammed down the public’s throats. Planned in advance? Without question. How? By massive weather modification through atmospheric spraying in conjunction with the use of frequency technologies such as HAARP, Doppler Radar, microwave directed energy, etc. Oh? Nonsense, you say? Lofl!! You are all living in a dreamworld especially designed for the stupid.
for 10 to 12k. You can do solar, AND generator backup, With battery backup ! Screw them all !!!
Don’t mess with Texas… They are doing such a great job themselves.
Typical GOP
