The Manhattan DA convened a grand jury to hear evidence and weigh charges against former president Donald Trump and the employees of the Trump Organization as part of the criminal probe into the company, according to reporting from the Washington Post. Prosecutors are attempting to pressure the Trump Organization’s CFO Allen Weisselberg into cooperating. Former Trump Organization executive Barbara Res and former U.S. attorney Barbara McQuade join MSNBC’s Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber to discuss the escalation in the investigation.

I think that they are going to charge Trump and the Trump Organization for RICO charges. I really think that they will get him on running a large scale criminal enterprise.

As much fun as this is to watch, the Grand Jury is scheduled to meet for the next six months. That means it’s unlikely there will be ANY criminal charges filed until the end of this year. Meanwhile we will keep hearing the term “witch-hunt” over and over again from you know who. I wonder how long before Tucker Carlson goes on a rant telling his viewers not to believe anything they hear from a liberal New York Grand Jury? It’s going to be a real slog before we finally see exactly what the prosecutors have on the Trumps. I suppose I’ll say the glass is half-full and be glad that it really looks like something beyond talk is going to happen.
