Senate Will Take Up Rescue Plan This Week | Morning Joe | MSNBC
The Biden-Harris Team can lose the minimum wage on this bill for the moment in order to get the bulk of it passed. That’s simply negotiation. However, it gives the Biden-Harris Team an opportunity to “go big”. When faced with extraordinary unemployment, FDR set up the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) to employ Americans to work on public infrastructure projects and in the national parks. That work has been the foundation of much of what we have today 85 years later. The Federal Government has spent too long largely ignoring America’s need to upgrade her freeway system for electric vehicles. (One of hundreds of bipartisan House Resolutions passed but blocked by McConnell.) The roads and sewers need to be expanded to accommodate the increase in population and urban sprawl. At the same time, our workforce has become very poorly paid and the cost of both vocational and college education is prohibitive. Technological changes happen so rapidly that it has become a challenge just to remain educated in one’s own field. Historically, America established the WPA as a means for the working poor to work their way out out of poverty. Other countries have paired public works projects with education programs that eliminate or reduce the cost of education. Attaining an educated workforce and providing the many different public works projects that need to be done throughout this country are goals consistent with a growing, thriving country, businesses, and middle-class. America has pulled itself out of poverty before and we can do it again.
Yeah its “so dramatic” to overrule the parliamentarian…maybe inside DC, but in the rest of America we dont give a ****, overrule her and be done with it!
If they dont pass this bill I will never vote again.Dems lie the same as republicans. All these poloticians are corrupt.Screw them all
Parlamentarian or whatever you call or spell it has zero power.Screw him or her.Pass the bill with 15.
Money as the agent of evil/unbalance doesn’t help with more but to sell your soul.
Hand tap to Mark 8:36
For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world [with all its pleasures], and forfeit his soul?
Because they are the most laziest corrupt politicians that move slower than molasses!
$7.25 an hour is slave wages. Modern slavery is alive and well in America.
MSNBC IS FAKE NEWS AND LIES !!! TRUMP IS “We The People” true PRESIDENT !!! BIDEN IS A JOKE AND DEM.’S ARE RUINING OUR COUNTRY !!!
Uh, yeah right. I’m sure they’ll get right on that.
Okay, time to get rid of the filibuster.
Lol the Democrats control the Senate its got nothing to do with Republicans and how they vote.
They’re as rabid and dishonest about progressive policies as Fox is about Democrats in general. Hilarious!
how can they not pass 15 dollar min. wage? sheeeetzpha’ , its 2021… phony fakes never saw inflation.
CPAC is not important news, its old fraud.
What’s important is the minimum wage USD 25.00 per hour.
I am so sick of these but wipes sitting around debating on one damned thing or another while there are people out there about to be tossed out on their butts because the republicans and the democrats cant come to an agreement. Mean while, by the time you morons do finally get this done, the people who have received the money will have been tossed out of their homes and will only have enough money to get themselves back into a home and they will be in the same position they are now. SHAME on the republicans AND the democrats for their sitting and stomping their feet like little spoiled children who want their way.
COBA is a joke!
This is taking forever
Joe Manchin said no more than $11/hr, wouldn’t that be better than nothing? Of course fight to the 11th hour for the full amount, but don’t just remove it.
Get rid of the filibuster now! If the cons had the power they would put there foot on the necks of the Dems!
Well Durbin they let the rich get it through he better rethink this or we will never vote for them again
The Parliamentarian is not an elected official. They are appointed and basically a member of the staff. They are using the Parliamentarian as an excuse not to pass a 15$ minimum wage.
Democrats must Filibuster Or the Cheating GOP will when
I see we are bombing in Syria again. I wonder if this has anything to do with the billion dollars given to Raytheon within the Stimulus bill. There is also that several million dollar “study “ for rapid rail in California. The Republicans wanted to take that money and spend it on student mental health and treatment but we rejected that proposal. They called our bluff. Clearly this money for the rail study is going to line somebody’s pocket.
Who exactly elected the Parliamentarian? The answer is ZERO. Zero people voted for this one person who holds all this power. Please explain how this is a “democracy”?
Democrats won’t fight for 15hr because they don’t want it. Dems are just as beholden to the 1% and big corporations as republicans.
