Here in the UK, the government has started for the first time that the new variant has a higher mortality rate. However, that was obvious in the jump in death per day.
I’d also say that we are vaccination just as quickly as the USA per capita and my doctor told me yesterday that he doesn’t expect a change until after the summer.
The government told people yesterday not to book summer holidays as travel restriction may still be in place.
Summer festivals have all been cancelling.
Not trying to be a downer, I’m just giving a little more information as this guy seemed overly optimistic to me.
Maybe he can have a barbeque with his friends as they will all have had access to both does of vaccine and time for it to take effect. Everyone else? Not so much.
