Trump continues to make a bigger a** of himself and will to the bitter end (whenever and whatever that looks like). It would be best for the US and the rest of the world if no more Dark Triad sociopaths like Trump are nominated for high office. This needs to be on our social / societal radar.
It was kind of a head-scratcher for me when I heard that one of Trump’s objections was that there wasn’t enough money being given to individuals for COVID relief. He wants $2000 instead of $600. It seemed so out of character for him. Then I figured it out: he wants a lot of extra money in people’s pockets so he can make gobs more money on his fund-raiser.
Let’s wait and see if Trump or someone he designates makes the suggestion that since Trump got people a lot more money, maybe they could show their appreciation by donating some of it to Trump’s “campaign fund” and still come out ahead of where they would have been without Trump’s help.
Here’s a possible scenario: Congress authorizes, say, $1200 per person. Trump immediately brags about getting everybody $600 more. Then he says, “You could split the difference and give me $300, and still come out $300 ahead!”
Assume that 20 million Trumpists go for it.
20,000,000 x $300 = 6 billion dollars for Trump.
