‘I Didn’t See A Way Back’: Long-Term Republican Explains Why He Left The Party | Morning Joe | MSNBC
You have a centre-right party – it’s called the Democrats.
Trump-cultists do not constitute a “political party” at this point and will never listen to reason, logic or facts. They’re basically no different than Jonestown or Branch Davidian followers.
We all look forward to the day we can disagree with everything Joe says again. It will take a new GOP for that to happen.
Me too. Me too.
Republicans of all-types are going to get creamed in ’22.
WAKE UP FOLKS-THIS VIDEO WILL EXPOSE THE DEMOCRATS AND MEDIA IS TRYING TO HIDE IT OF COURSE.
Trump’s Lawyer EXPOSES DEMs For Playing Manipulated Video of Capitol Riot

You republicans have such a knee-jerk thing about budget deficits, except of course when it comes to tax breaks for the rich. Your arguments therefore ring hollow, false and downright stingy. If you want to make a better argument, let’s study pre- and post-New Deal economic stats. Were we better off after the New Deal or worse? Compare the figures and then we can talk. I refuse to bow to the tyranny of dead ideas.
Trump did not change the GOP, he just revealed who they have become.
Oh FFS!!! Just DO THE RIGHT THING! Everyone with half a brain knows that the right thing is to convict Trump.
RIP GOP you may still get your “coup”, but you won’t be in control of it.
It was all a lie just a party for rich white ppl,boo hiss
I love it when republicans and (ex-republicans) are only concerned about the debt when we comes too helping the people that gave them the money in the first place, but when it comes to tax breaks for rich and military spending it’s game on!! get a clue, the trickle down economics only worked for the rich to get richer!! the money went too the rich persons hand to his pocket when the pocket got full it trickled down to his shoe when that got full a penny might go to the poor. MAYBE!!
Sane republicans should be racing for the hills with the QOP’s transformation into the party of criminals, the ignorant, the eternal victims, liars, grifters, racists and cop killers
Thank God they’re not in power anymore.
There is a center-right party already: the Democratic party.
For all the “walk away” false stories BS that was being bombarded into the ether, over the four years of Trump’s presidency, by fake social media accounts of a non-existent desertion of Democrats from the Democratic Party, it appears once again that it was all just projection.
The desertion and walking away from the Republican Party is, on the contrary, VERY real, with real people not fake accounts with stock photos of imaginary people. It’s hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of every day real life people who were Republicans, and hundreds of high ranking people doing so very publicly.
Now a third party, center-right party, is actually in the works that will schism the Republican Party.
Trump broke the Republican Party.
Republican Lindsay Graham, United States Senator from South Carolina:
“If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed…….and we will deserve it.” May 4, 2016. https://mobile.twitter.com/lindseygrahamsc/status/727604522156228608?lang=en
Pretty disappointing knowing that the GOP senators will acquit Trump of impeachment, but NY and GA are eager to get their chance to have him stand trial, so that should be interesting.
We don’t need another center right party, the Dems are already that. We need what doesn’t yet exist….a progressive party with people like Bernie & AOC. There is no one to represent us.
It is so frustrated to watch the impeachment trail. To me Trump will get away with it deal to the whole selfishness of Republicans members!
Where did Dr. Chen’s assertion come from that “there’s has to be a place for a center right party”? That more than half the American people are in the center, however he might define that. Where is this gigantic middle group of 125 million American adults (more than half the adult population) hiding while 74 million vote for Trump, 81 million for Biden, while Biden has 55% approval rating for doing what he is doing? It’s not like the $1.9 trillion price tag for his COVID relief proposal is a secret. Wishful thinking on the part of Joe and Dr. Chen, no? (Funny that he claims Ronald Reagan as a centrist. That shows you how things have changed since the 1980’s, not without the help of people, not necessarily Dr. Chen, at the Hoover Institution.) He and Joe want there to be such a place, but I noticed that neither mentioned a number more specific than “millions of Americans”. Well, that’s the Green or Libertarian Party, for heaven’s sake, hardly influential in the overall political picture of the USA in comparison to Trumpites and Democrats. I don’t see why disaffected Republicans, and that includes the likes of Murkowski, Portman, Collins, Romney, etc. don’t join the Dems with the intent of pulling that party to the center, and see whether Chuck Schumer rejects their applications to caucus with the Dems and put Mitch McConnell at a greater disadvantage. No need to do the power-sharing bit when you have more seats than the GOP had in the last Congress. Short of doing that, disgruntled former Republicans are essentially saying that the two major parties are today equally bad, that over-spending is just as egregious a sin as an attempted coup. If that’s the case, then they should form a new party, not just wring their hands about how awful it is to be in the situation they find themselves, because really, is there any reason to feel sorry for them when they had so many chances to repudiate the failed idea of trickle down economics, to repudiate Newt Gingrich’s approach to appealing to the electorate, to repudiate Mitch McConnell’s obstructionism, and in Ms. Haley’s case, to repudiate Donald Trump instead of serving as his personal representative to the UN?
Are corporations still giving money to GOPq ???????
Whats crazy is when Trump is acquitted he will be more emboldened than ever and will really feel he can do ” Anything “.US is more than a mess and In real danger to come letting him get away with his crimes
There’s already a center right party. They are called “Democrats”.
The GOP lost their way back when they sold America the whole trickle down economics BS and they’ve gone nowhere but down from there. Now it’s the party of Q-wingnuts.
