How Jimmy Stewart’s WWII Experience Impacted ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ | Morning Joe | MSNBC
Jimmy Stewart…… I had no idea he was a brigadier general.
absolutely wonderful, ty everyone! and its a wonderful life has been one of my fav movies for many decades! but i hadn’t even realized that he had ptsd, i thought he was just acting. it is so obvious now that you said it. being from a multigenerational military family, it should have hit me but didn’t. my son still has it after 14 years but it was dramatically bad that 1st year. and still i never made the connection with the movie.
My favorite Christmas movie
..They assume that the U.S. without Trump will no longer be leading world politics and the organizers of CO-VID-19 are already warning the world that the “pandemic” will begin to do “what it came” to do “end humanity” to adjust the population to the 2030 AGENDA … https://www.r-evolucion-revelacion.es/proyecto-2020-agenda-regulacion-y-re-programacion-de-la-humanidad/
Jimmy Stewart’s character was a LOAN SHARK. He wasn’t GIVING away money. He was loaning it and charging interest. Nothing morally noble about that. If you failed to make your payments, he would foreclose on you every bit as fast as Potter would evict you.
Jimmy Stewart was a lifelong Republican. He would have been absolutely appalled at the state of his party and the POTUS of today.
I cringe when I hear old white people raving about old movies with all-white casts.
The greatest generation fought for humanity! They fought for true democracy. Why won’t we?
Yes. Weird. Jimmy Stewart was suffering from PTSD episodes during the filming of “It’s a Wonderful Life”!
Now, how do you claw your way back from being Potterville or is it a one way trip?
By all means, watch and re-watch this awesome movie, but also watch “The Best Years of Our Lives” for insight into the experience of “The Greatest Generation” on their return from the victory that saved Western Cilviization.
What a great man and great actor . It’s a Wonderful Life is a fantastic movie and tugs at my heartstrings every time . My other favorite Stewart movies are Harvey , Mr Hobbs Takes a Vacation and You Can’t Take It With You . What a guy , one of the best .
My dad was an RAF bomber Navigator during WWII. His pilot Jock Shaw, the ” Old Man “, was 28.
Among those Steward commanded in the Army Air Corps during WWII was a young man named Walter Matthow aka Walter Matthau.
Boy Jimmy Stewart was not only at a great actor put a heck of a patriot his generation Sure saved the World

The best !!!
WW2 was worse than you think, gun your hand rifle really. Through a hole in a concrete wall you see a street in a French city. The sound of artillery in the distance, a baby faced Luey is tell you and your friends about a German gun implement in the next building. Go and take it, he says. In the street is a shooting gallery on both side. The a hole is sending you and five other guy likely to you death. Battery acid in your mouth you go, don’t make out door bullet to you neck, carotid artery severed blood gushing out. Margaret you wife face flashes in your mind and your baby son.
Good story, M & J
