The U. S. started out as a democracy, and thanks to its great success in every way, we have been able to keep it that way. Its huge size, it’s human talent, its invention of modern technology , all contribute to the continuance of our democratic system. Whereas, China has the biggest problem of all, they have 1.4 billion people. It’s enough work just to feed them. Also, the Chinese people are highly individualistic, each group going its own way. Left alone, they will break up into many smaller countries, at odds with each other, resulting in chaos. Its enemies would love to see that happen, and that’s when Japan tried to conquer China before it had a chance to form a united country. That’s the reason China has to use totalitarian control over the people, uniting them for a common purpose. They would not have their current economical success without that control.
