Black Doctors Test COVID-19 Vaccines To Clear 'Cloud Of Political Influence' Over Virus Drug Trials

As of Monday, there were 7.15 million Americans infected with COVID-19. 205,000 Americans have died from the virus.

The search for a coronavirus vaccine continues but a lot of African Americans are skeptical about using it even if one is found.

The oldest professional society of Black Physicians have decided to independently test the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines. Several Infectious disease and immunization experts make up the National Medical Association (NMA) task force. They will be reviewing the data in hopes to address some of the concerns around the vaccine for COVID-19.

Dr. Leon McDougle, President of National Medical Association spoke with Roland Martin about the need for Black doctors to test the efficacy of proposed COVID-19 vaccines and the need for African Americans to join the vaccine drug trials during Monday’s edition of #RMU.
