He shouldn’t pack the court to unbalance the power to one political view. Pack it to make it 50/50. There is nothing unfair in that.
A big thing to do that doesn’t include packing the courts (which they should) is banning private think tanks from picking the nominee. The President doesn’t pick the Justice he chooses them off a list handed to him and picks one off like he is ordering off the kids menu at a restaurant.

Biden is showing his wisdom in not allowing the issue of expanding the Supreme Court to bear in the November 3 election. If he did say he would consider expanding the Supreme Court, the anti-abortion nuts would flock to Donald Trump (even though Trump is busy killing them).
No shocker, in 1983 he said it was a boneheaded idea. Biden couldnt back track on that without looking like he had dementia even more. FDR thought of packing the court but ultimately didnt. He viewed a strong democracy as its own solution to the 9 justices question.

As much as I detest how they were able to scheme their way to an extra Supreme Court justice, packing the courts would be a complete and utter disaster. If anything, they should take this opportunity to reform the Supreme Court in such a way that makes packing it more difficult in the future, as with a momentary upper hand I imagine the Republicans would be willing to go along with such reforms.
Just remember that packing the Supreme Court would make it little more than a rubber stamp for the party that controls the presidency and senate. They were established to be immune to the hysteria and politicking of any given moment, and this would end all of that.
The next time a new Trump comes along he could have immediate control of the Supreme Court which, to this point, has been dang near the only institution limiting his authority. In a court packing world Trump would have been granted his “absolute executive immunity”.
It’s just not worth it and, frankly, it’s a catastrophically stupid idea. They’d be better off looking at other reforms, but they’re unlikely to happen. They also may want to gently persuade Stephen Breyer to retire given he’s already 82.
